Plastic Pollution in the World
This week, I watched three TED talks, which is a presentation/video that focuses on current world issues such as climate change, wars, or even coral reefs. However, the TED talk I'm focused on talks about plastic pollution. The main idea of these three TED talks were to reduce the overall human footprint on our wildlife from either cutting down on fertilizer which can create “dead zones”, or trying to reduce plastic waste emitted into the wild. One idea that I found interesting was raising the overall price of plastic by a quarter of a cent to make it an item of value. I thought this was interesting because this could potentially decrease plastic waste in the world because now, people can actually profit off of picking up plastic waste. I agree with this idea because it can truly help with the pollution issue. This can have a beneficial snowball effect because one of the largest ailments to wildlife is plastic pollution.
